Škoda Transtech is a leading European manufacturer of rolling stock, specialising in delivering high-quality modern light and heavy rail solutions designed for extremely harsh Nordic conditions, while also suitable for use worldwide.
Škoda Transtech Finland was established in 1985. Since 2015, the company has been part of the Škoda Group, with the aim of combining smart innovations with high-quality technical solutions. Currently, Škoda Transtech supplies, among other things, top-tier light rail vehicles to Helsinki and Tampere, as well as train carriages to VR Group.
Roof-mounted electrical enclosures for trams must withstand demanding environmental conditions while remaining structurally lightweight. In addition, the enclosure must offer strong corrosion resistance, provide tight protection for the internal electronics, and ensure long service life.
Trams have strict weight limitations, which is why the enclosures are made of aluminium. As a material, aluminium is lightweight and offers good corrosion resistance. Casemet manufactures the metal frame of the electrical enclosure and carries out the electromechanical assembly, where the required components are installed and the enclosure undergoes electrical and functional testing. The enclosure is a fully customised contract manufacturing product, designed in collaboration with Škoda Transtech.

Casemet has delivered the enclosures for trams manufactured by Škoda Transtech that are already in operation in Tampere. Casemet also manufactures the electrical enclosures for the Raide-Jokeri light rail line in Helsinki region. The electrical enclosures for the Raide-Jokeri ForCity Smart Artic X54 trams are also produced by Casemet.
