Casemet Oy was founded in 2016, although the company’s roots go back more than 50 years. Over the past decade, Casemet has experienced significant growth through acquisitions and investments.
Our Mikkeli factory was originally established in 1974 under the name Sähkövaruste Oy. In 2016, Casemet Oy acquired the factory from the Ensto Group. Our roots therefore go back more than 50 years, and we have extensive accumulated expertise.
In the years since, Casemet has continued to grow through acquisitions and we have expanded our operations to Pärnu, Estonia. We continuously develop our growth strategy, personnel expertise, machinery, and the automation and digitalisation of our production.
2016
Casemet Oy founded
Casemet was founded by the Kokkonen and Hyyryläinen families, owners of Mikemet Oy. Casemet Oy acquired Ensto’s factory on Insinöörinkatu in Mikkeli, along with the rights to the Cubo metal enclosure solutions. As part of the acquisition, Ensto employees and long-standing expertise were transferred to Casemet Oy.
2017
Merger of Casemet Oy and Mikemet Oy
Mikemet had been operating since 2011. Mikemet’s strong expertise in contract manufacturing of sheet metal and electromechanical assemblies complemented Casemet’s service offering well.
2018
Expansion to Pärnu
Casemet acquired Larmek Oü in Pärnu, Estonia, which was established in 2011. The acquisition expanded Casemet’s offering with more advanced mechanical components and manufacturing methods for thinner sheet materials with tighter tolerances. Casemet Oü serves both Estonian and international customers.
2018 Aki Hyyryläinen from the Hyyryläinen family joined Casemet as a mechanical designer, laying the groundwork for a generational transition in the family business.
2019
Generational transition progresses
Sanna Vihersalo from the Kokkonen family joined Casemet as Factory Manager of the Estonia plant.
”At the same time, I moved my entire life to Pärnu, which was a leap into the almost unknown. I found an apartment, bought a car, and tried to learn the language — although my Estonian still isn’t very good. At the Pärnu factory, I quickly got to know the people and started developing the operations. We also managed to implement the ERP system fairly quickly.”
2020
New factory in Pärnu
A new factory was completed in Pärnu, providing modern production facilities and additional space for production.
2021
Third factory in Pärnu
Fimeca Oü was also a contract manufacturer of sheet metal mechanics, bringing screen printing technology to Casemet and introducing a new powder coating facility in Estonia.
A partial generational transition took place in the Kokkonen and Hyyryläinen families, with Aki and Sanna becoming second-generation owners. Sanna Vihersalo returned from Estonia to Finland and took on the role of Chief Operating Officer.
2019 Sanna Vihersalo started as Factory Manager in Pärnu. “I learned an incredible amount about Casemet, our customers, and our personnel.”
2022
Expansion of the Pärnu factory
The Pärnu factory was expanded to 4,500 m², enabling all Pärnu operations to be consolidated under one roof. This increased production flexibility and efficiency. Casemet Oü also recruited additional employees during this period.
Aki Hyyryläinen began his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Casemet.
The first CO₂ emissions calculations were carried out.
2023
Largest machine investment in Casemet’s history in Mikkeli
The new Salvagnini S4 + P4 automated production line at the Mikkeli factory includes a raw material storage system along with punching and bending capabilities. The line brings a new level of flexibility for demanding customer projects.
In addition, the welding and finishing departments at the Mikkeli factory were upgraded, significantly improving working conditions and welding quality.
2024
Expansion of the Mikkeli factory
The Mikkeli factory was expanded by 1,000 m². A new combination machine was introduced in Pärnu.
Sanna Vihersalo began her role as CEO of Casemet Oy.

2025
Robotics and automation
In 2025, the robotisation of the welding department was completed, and a Prima Power combination machine was introduced. Welding robotisation automates and speeds up the production of our own enclosure products. The Prima Power combination machine automates sheet cutting and forming. The machine is integrated with an automated storage system, making it fully autonomous.
The first sustainability report was published.
